Some random happenings. I was driving and in my own little world as I happen to get when it is just me in the car with no kids and no radio. My thoughts jump randomly from one thing to another and sometimes I miss a turn or forget where I need to go. This particular day I only missed one turn and had to back track on some side roads thru Idaho Falls. Anyway, as I was driving I had a little de ja vu (I have no idea if that's how you spell it but you get the point). I passed by a brown porta potty and remembered something cute Aspen said at one of the kids baseball games. She needed to go to the bathroom so as we were walking toward the choice of 3 porta potties, two blue and one brown, she said, "Mommy I want to go in the chocolate one." I thought that was so funny. Then of course my mind skipped to Carter when he was a little boy and how children use word association such as chocolate for brown. Carter used to call anything the color orange "juice". Sometimes I need to just think of all the precious things my kids say and do to make my day just a little brighter.
Thursday morning I went to Idaho Falls to do a little shopping with Morgan for 4-H. There is nothing better than handing over a gift card when paying for merchandise. Then I took off for Pocatello with Roberta, Alice, & Heather to visit Whitney for a little baby shower. We got to visit and go to lunch at Chili's. Roberta had to show me how cool Costco was. I know lots of people swear by it but I didn't think it was much different than Sams Club. Alice did have to show me the jewelry. Holy Cow, how is possible that a yellow stone in a ring can cost $29,000.00, and that wasn't even suggested retail. This particular yellow stone happened to be a 3. something natural cut diamond. Anyway, it was really nice spending time with just the girls for a little bit.
Friday Shawn woke up early to go fishing with Cortney and his friend Jorey. Jorey built Shawn a bamboo fly fishing rod that is pretty sweet. They came up to bring the rod and spend a few days fishing. As they were fishing the kids and I went water skiing with our ward Young Men & Young Women. We went to Ririe Resevoir up to Black Tail boat dock. We had a great time, the kids had their fair share of great wrecks, but loved the tubes and wakeboard. Shade was really impressed with the Bishop. He had never been wake boarding before and could almost jump the wakes his first time up. He also did some tubing with him. His comment on the way home was "Bishop is pretty cool, he's way different than when he is at church." It's good for them to see he is just a normal guy that loves to have fun just like them. We had a BBQ up there and I got up on the ski's. I got three real good water wedgies, but luckily no bad wrecks. I need to man up and figure out how to cross the wakes. When we got home Shawn was just getting home and wanted to let Jorey have a taste of a Big Juds one pound Burger, so we ordered out. Saturday the guys went fishing again for the day. I worked in the yard most of the day, while I was mowing the yard a man stopped by. He said he had lived here as a boy. Not in our house but in a house across the fence in the hay field. We had an enjoyable visit about how it was when he lived here in the 50's. He told me of how they used to have a mountain lion problem in the trees along the bench and the farmers would get together with torches and try to get rid of them. He also told me he tree houses in those same trees and that somewhere along the bench there is a cave. Of course when I told the kids that they are all gung ho to go find that cave. This house and farm has so much history. It would be so neat to have all of the people we have talked to about it write it down and compile it into a book. Maybe I should do that.

When the guys got back we had Bob & Roberta out and BBQ'd steaks and had fresh cantaloupe and corn salad with my 1st tomatoes, cucumbers & onions from my garden. As they were all leaving Seth and Erin came with their family to visit. It was fun just sitting around enjoying life and visiting with those we love. "LIFE IS GOOD"!

I wish I could have been there...but for some reason Cortney didn't want to bring me...could it be my three kids?? HAhaha...sounds like fun. I could really use a big judd burger and a lazy afternoon in your backyard.
