Taco Night

Another busy weekend over. Man time flies when you are having fun (or running crazy). Yesterday was steer weigh in for 4-H, Morgan had volleyball & Shade had baseball. The plan was; I was supposed to take Morgan to volleyball & Shawn would take Shade to catch the bus for his games on the way to weigh the steer. I got a frantic call just as I was about to go into Morgan's game from Shawn swearing he was going to shoot the "darn" steer because it wouldn't get into the trailer. I rushed home in time to save the poor steer's life and got him loaded. Then I went back to catch Morgan's games. Her team is doing very well. After her games I went talked Morgan into going home to watch Aspen while I went to Idaho Falls to watch Shade's games. They didn't do so hot, but it was their 1st game. Hopefully, they got all their jitters out. After the game Aimee took me to Albertsons to show me the ropes on coupon shopping. Amazing! 12 boxes of cereal, 2 candy bars & chapstick for $.77. I am hooked. Then I got 17 more boxes of cereal for $12. Crazy!

This morning I had ward counsel and 7:15 am before going to church at 9:00 am. Shawn taught a great gospel doctrine lesson from the Old Testament about Joseph of Egypt and how much he was like Christ. The manual used the word prototype.

Tonight we had Taco Night at our house. Walter was supposed to come over with his family and bring his famous spanish taco's but he called and said his family was sick so he just brought his taco's over for us to enjoy. I made salsa & guacamole. Whitney & Skyler brought some yummy quacamole. Bob & Roberta and Shane & Susan Sutton brought some salad and yummy cookies. It was a feast. Oh, and Shawn BBQ'd some shrimp and carne asada that was a hit. Everyone ate until we couldn't eat any more, then we ate a little more. Can you say "Stuffed". So fun to get together with friends & family. It seems like total caos, but it sure is a good time. And we all had a good laugh over Bob telling us some of his driver's ed stories. I think maybe he ought to take out another life insurance policy!

Before they left Alice had Bob & Shawn give her a blessing before her appointment tomorrow. They are going to talk to the Dr. about the results from her tumor they took from her bladder. They found it was cancerous, and we are all praying it was contained to the tumor they removed they will be doing a little more testing once she is feeling a little better. We are praying for her. Not ready for her to not be with us.
