It's How Cold?

Aaahhh Fire in the fire place September 1st, gotta love Idaho

It's September 1st and yes that is a fire in the fire place. I finally did it, after freezing the past 3 days, I decided to start a fire. Maaaannn it feels good! There is nothing like the feel of the heat from a good old wood burning fire place. Those gas fire places may be clean and easy but they have noth'n on the wood burner! It's supposed to 80 tomorrow, which I am totally good with, because I am sooo not ready for winter and cold weather.

The cold weather brings another annual event around and that is hunting season. The guys have been out the past few days honing their skills with the bow and arrow. Shade, Jace & Carter even built themselves a tree stand in the tree out back so they could practice shooting from that. It has been really fun watching them try to shoot better than the next guy. They get excited for the cold weather because that gets the elk to bugle and that means the big ones get stupid or so the guys say.

It has sure been nice having the kids back in school. Not so much the kids being around, but the routine. Yesterday, I had most of the day to myself. I got my whole house cleaned including dusting. Where in the world does all that dust come from, I just dusted a week ago and it looks like I haven't dusted in a year. The kids are all doing well in school so far. They like their teachers and seem to be having fun. I haven't had to do homework with Carter yet because he always gets it done before I get a chance to sit down with him. He has really been on top of things this year. I haven't even had to fight him to get up and get going in the mornings. Hopefully this lasts for a long time. It's GOOD! Aspen is really missing the kids and Ellie is paying for it. She bring her in the house and puts the leash on her and makes her sit and watch Dora, or leads her around the house and makes her play dolls with her. It's actually pretty cute, but poor Ellie doesn't quite know what to think. Every once in a while she sneaks away and comes to me with big brown eyes, hoping for a break, so she gets to go outside.
