HUM-dinger

So I was hobbling around today and literally stopped and smiled! Why? I was humming! Not only that, but I have caught myself humming & singing several times today. That may not seem like much, but I love to hum & sing around the house. It makes me HAPPY! It lifts my spirit. Shawn just laughs when I am in the shower because I sing most every morning. Yep, I know I haven't hummed or sang to myself in a month. One month tomorrow is my surgery anniversary. I am going to survive, next week I get to start weight bearing on my leg. I am super excited, but also a little nervous. I am not so sure what to expect, but I am a little afraid of the therapy. My therapist told me today I get to do mini squats next week. Let me tell you that does not sound fun. It's pretty funny that a little (mini) squat would scare me when I do squats with the bar & weights all the time (or used to).

Aspen has been affected by this the most, other than me in my family. She has had several potty accidents & is starting to throw tantrums. She has been potty trained since she was 22 months old & she hardly ever throws tantrums. Today I caught her sucking her thumb. I told her that it was not good & she told me Larkin (her friend) does it all the time. I came home from therapy exhausted today. She was great during therapy then at the end wouldn't pick up the toys she had played with, then as we were leaving decided she wanted a treat. We made it into the car, barely. Then I went to get gas & worming medicine for the animals, I got detained by an old neighbor & I was watching her of the corner of my eye. I thought I saw her go around the corner, but when I went to get her she wasn't there. I looked all over the store & couldn't find her then happened to peek out the window & saw her in the car. Then we were driving to the vet to that medicine because Valleywide didn't have it and she holds up a horse she had heisted from the store. Oh Boy! When we got to the vet she insisted on having a PINK leash for Ellie (she has 2 at home, but not pink ones). Then a tantrum. Let me tell you it is virtually impossible to get a 38 lb crying child, who has made like a dead weight on the floor, out to the car while on crutches. I finally just threatened to leave her, which meant another tantrum as she came running out, and yet another as I buckled her in her seat. It all wore her out though, as she fell asleep on the way home. Which brings up another problem, how to get a sleeping baby out of the car while on crutches.

Incidentally, when I got home I went to sleep!
