We went out to Leslie for our annual Memorial weekend camping trip. I have been going crazy wanting to camp all Spring, but with my knee we have not been able to go till now. Everyone was so excited to get out. Neal & Jenaee and family came out and we had a great time. We were pretty worried about the weather because the forecast kept saying rainy and cold all weekend. It actually was not bad at all. Saturday was for playing, the kids were all up early to fish and they caught lots. We had to get after them because they were chumming them. They would throw fish food into the pond then hurry and cast their line. Even with out that they caught lots. The fish are looking really good. There are some good 20" trout in there. There are also some babies in there which is cool, because Shawn didn't think they would spawn in the pond. Shawn and the boys went ground squirel hunting in the morning while we waited for Walter & Laura to come out to spend the day. Laura has never camped so she didn't want to camp, but we convinced them to come spend the day. After they got there we took a drive up to Challis to go swimming. On the way we stopped at the base of Mount Borah (the highest peak in Idaho) to look at the fault line. This was created during the 7.3 earthquake in 1983. The fault line didn't impress anyone, it just looked like a big gravel ditch. It is pretty amazing if your think about it though, that the whole valley could drop 6 feet. Then we headed up to Challis Hotsprings to spend the rest of the day swimming. On the way home it started to snow and rain so we were a little worried about the weather, but the evening actually turned out nice. We sat by the raging fire Shade built and roasted smores. Coconut marshmellows our new favorite for roasting. Sunday morning it was raining and miserable, but we had come prepared with our church clothes so we all went to church with Grandma, by the time church was out the sun came out and we had an enjoyable remainder of the day, which included a nice long nap. Nothing better than taking a nap while camping, there is just something about it. We cooked up some ribs and dutch oven potatoes for dinner which were awesome. I cooked the ribs in black cherry shasta pop, then BBQ'd them with sauce, YUM, YUM! Monday morning Shawn wanted to get going before lunch so we got up and made crepes with fruit for breakfast, I swear I gained a few pounds during the weekend. Shawn helped my mom with a few things in her yard & I got the camper all ready to go. Shawn & Neal decided to go squirrel hunting again and they took most of the kids. Wendee & Robert came down so we could all go to dad's grave. Seth showed up with some hotdogs to cook for his lunch so we made our lunch and visited while we waited for the boys to come back. When everyone was back we headed over to the cemetery. Aspen broke my heart. She couldn't understand why grandpa couldn't come live with grandma. I told her he had to help Jesus, but she insisted he was done helping so he could come back to live with Grandma. Between that and being plain tired she was a mess, so when we got back we loaded up and headed home. It's always nice to go camping and it's always nice to pull into the driveway of home. It was pouring rain when we got there so we even got to put off unloading the camper.
Carter with a fish, everyone was always excited when someone caught one.
Reuben, Aspen & Nora. When we got there the only pole we had brought was Aspen's little pink fishing pole. So it got broke in pretty well until we were able to get one from Grandma.
The 4-wheelers and motor bikes are always a hit. Ceasar loved to ride the motor bike. He didn't want anything to do with the 4-wheeler. Morgan was always willing to give rides, she was begging for a motor bike before the weekend was over.
Shawn caught a fish and had Ceasar reel it in. It was so funny, when the fish ran it about pulled Ceasar and the pole in. Carter grabbed the pole and Shawn grabbed Ceasar.
Earthquake fault line historical sight.
This is the fault line. It looks like a big 27 mile gravel ditch. It said the valley floor dropped 6 feet during the earthquake and that it still moves about 1/2 and inch a year.

The pool was about 101 degrees so you had to sit on the side to cool down. Shade
Shawn's camera is an underwater camera. We have never tried it so now was our chance. Shawn took the best underwater picture.

Shawn getting ready to leave. He actually got really sick. He did a front flip in the water and got really bad motion sickness. He was out for the rest of the day. He took some medicine and took a nap when we got back to the camp and felt better that night.
