Attack of the Sugar Bugs!

So today was the kids cleaning & check at the dentist. I have not been looking forward to this because it is sooo expensive and we have no money! Sometimes I get so frustrated that we work so hard for what we have and can't afford dental and orthodontics, yet some people that don't work so hard get it for free. I just need to remember to be grateful that we have the ability to work and the opportunity to work (although right now not so much opportunity with the economy and no snow).

Carter and Morgan went 1st and the dentist gave them a clean bill, although he said something about Morgie that has me a little stressed. They found some sort of dark spot at the root of her tooth, down in her gums that has them a little worried. The cancer word was mentioned, but they don't think that is likely. They are sending it to an oral surgeon for review.

Then Shade & Aspen were next. I have been especially worried about Shade because he drinks about 5 cans of mountain dew a day. After the check up I learned I had worried for a reason. Five cavities that need fixing NOW and 3 on the watch list. Plus...he needs his wisdom teeth pulled. YIKES! Aspen has three that need fixing, so not looking forward to that with her.

Anyway to say the least I was a little stressed and upset upon leaving! It is looking like about a $2500. trip to the dentist. When we were coming home I snapped at Aspen and both Shade & Morgan said something to me about not being so GRUMPY. I lost it & told them I had a right to be grumpy after a (insert swear word) $2500 trip to the dentist; as I burst out crying. Of course Aspen tells me "don't cry because moms don't cry". Yeah right! Then I lost it when Shawn asked me how it went. Morgan explained to him that I was stressed because I just had a $25,000 visit to the dentist. ha, ha. It might as well be that with as much money as I have to pay for it. Plus Morgan is supposed to go in for braces tomorrow and I have to come up with $500 for a down payment for that.

Not a good day! I hate this feeling of helplessness. It has got to turn around sometime. Hopefully we can hold out until something comes through.
