Christmas Cabin

Since the last Christmas the Boices spent at the "Christmas Cabin", all I have heard from my kids is "when do we get to go back to the Christmas Cabin".  Well, it happened this year.  Uncle Cameron and Grandma & Grandpa made it possible.  Grandma has been working her little fanny off for the past two months to get everything organized, the money collected and the deposit made.

I just LOVE, LOVE the Cabin.  Why?  Because, it forces me to be ready.  I can't wait till Christmas Eve to wrap presents because I have to take them all wrapped.  The food shopping has to be done.  Everything is ready by Christmas Eve morning!  We load it all up, squeeze in between suitcases, presents, boxes of yummy food and goodies and hit the road for the LONG 30 minute drive to St. Anthony where that heavenly place is.  This year it was snowing like crazy!  Yay, a white Christmas, but that meant that Shawn was plowing snow.  We get up there and the kids immediately disappear!  Yep, leaving me to bring all that stuff into the house.  But I am not complaining, we are here!  We get to spend the next 2 days in utter relaxation with family, friends and happy kids!  I unpack the car, help Ashley organize the kitchen, get a few things (ham, roast and rolls) started for dinner, then hit the big comfy chair for an afternoon nap.  Yep, you heard right, Christmas Eve and I am having  nap before the roaring fire, with the smell of rolls raising, meat cooking and happy kids.  LIFE is GOOD!

Ashley, Cort and our Family was in charge of Christmas Eve dinner.  Rolls, ham, roast BEAST, salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, with apple crisp, peach cobbler and ice cream for desert.  Delish!  With lots and lots of left overs.  Everyone stepped in and helped, especially Morgan, who absolutely loves to be with the adults and loves her Aunts.  She is such a HUGE help at these get togethers.

Ahhh! I am still thinking about how relaxing it is.  The kids had a blast together, as usual.  It is not only mom heaven but kid heaven as well, but for different reasons!  There is so much there for the kids to do, it is definitely not a place where they relax, but they do play hard enough to wear themselves out.

This the Cabin Great Room, the windows look out at the Tetons.

The kids (and parents) favorite room, a concrete floor, basket ball hoops, bikes, chalk boards on the walls, and slides!

The game area, fooze ball, air hockey, ping pong, two slides, and a climbing wall!

Christmas morning brought everyone up and around the tree.  The kids were so excited to open presents and see what everyone got.  It was a FUN time for all.
Aspen had crazy hair!  I think she slept burrowed under Carter on the couch!  Grandma Alice was really worried when nobody (meaning me) fixed it for her all day!

Uncle Tyler, Shade, Me, & Morgan.  We wrapped the letter up from the state saying Shade got his drivers license suspended (too many speeding tickets), then Morgan gave him a chauffeur's pass, as she was getting her license about the same time!  FUN times!

Everyone gathered around the open gifts.
